Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I tried to crack my neck and had a sharp pain. Previously I was having really bad vertigo and now I am in bad pain. I am unable to move.

Please help me.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I am sorry to hear that you are in pain. Cracking your neck can be dangerous and can cause injury to the neck or spine. If you are unable to see a doctor immediately, here are some home remedies you can try.

  1. Applying an ice pack to the affected area can help reduce pain and inflammation. You can wrap a few ice cubes in a towel or use a cold pack and place it on your neck for 15 to 20 minutes at a time, several times a day.
  2. Applying heat to the affected area can help increase blood flow and relax muscles. You can use a heating pad, a warm towel, or take a warm shower or bath.
  3. Avoid activities that exacerbate the pain and discomfort. Resting your neck and avoiding movement can help reduce the strain on your neck muscles.
  4. You can try gentle stretching exercises to help relieve tension in your neck muscles. However, it is important not to force any movements that cause pain or discomfort.
  5. Over-the-counter pain medication such as Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen can help alleviate pain and reduce inflammation.
  6. Once your neck gets stabilized visit a doctor immediately.

Thank you.
