Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My brother-in-law has some kind of flesh-eating illness. He had a skin graft done to one area a few weeks ago. Now the condition has returned to another part of his leg. I wanted to see if I can show a dermatologist some pictures of the area and get some advice.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Secondary bacterial infection is visible in the attached images (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). Clean the area with Povidone iodine and cotton gauze twice daily for one month. Apply Mupirocin cream twice daily for 15 days. Apply Povidone iodine ointment at night for 15 days. Take tablet Ciprofloxacin 500 mg once a day after food for 5 days. Use Cetrimide soap for baths for one month. Avoid scratching and rubbing of lesions. Maintain proper hygiene. Keep the area clean and dry. If there is pain, then take a tablet of Emanzen D (Diclofenac + Serratiopeptidase) twice daily for three days. Keep checking on vitals. Check blood pressure and pulse. Visit the emergency department in dermatology and get the wound or lesion cleaned with anti-septic measures.

Thank you.
