Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I recently had nerve pain in my hands, fingers, and feet. In the last two months, the tip of my nose, hair, and several of my face hairs have gone white. Certain regions of my skin have become sensitive when I touch them. I have a history of gastritis, which flares up. I am getting anxious. What could this possibly be?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
Do you have a history of HIV? Have you got your vitamin D3 and B12 levels checked? I recommend that you begin by taking vitamin A tablets.
I hope this helps. Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello,
Thank you for the reply.
I have been HIV-positive for nearly two years. According to my most recent doctor, my CD4 level is normal. He forced me to take pregabalin and vitamin B supplements. I finished my medicines but have not talked to him yet.. Because it was just a month ago, and I was unaware when the symptoms improved. I believe I still have white hair. There was no vitamin testing, simply CD4 and CBC. Creatinine levels are normal. This is causing me anxiety. And what could be the reason for the white hair? Is it something to do with the nerves?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I recommend that you have your vitamin B12 and vitamin D3 levels evaluated. Begin taking vitamin A and E tablets as well. White hair can also be caused by anxiety and stress.
I hope this helps.
Thank you and take care.
