Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I was sent to see an ENT (ear, nose, and throat specialist) due to hearing a whistling-like sound that others do not hear, along with a gross odor and vomiting. I also have other symptoms such as difficulty walking, pain, insomnia, depression, and a lack of desire to go anywhere.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Based on your description, it appears you are experiencing tinnitus along with a perception of a foul odor that triggers vomiting. However, you did not provide detailed information about the other symptoms related to walking, etc. Nevertheless, the combination of tinnitus and cacosmia (a perceived bad odor that others cannot detect) warrants neurological investigation rather than assessment by an ENT (ear, nose, and throat specialist) specialist.
Therefore, I strongly recommend that you schedule an appointment with a neurologist or ask your general practitioner to arrange one as soon as possible. A comprehensive neurological examination and brain imaging are necessary to identify the underlying problem and develop a treatment plan.
I hope this information helps you, and please reach out if you have any doubts.
Thank you.
