What can be the cause of breathlessness, muscle weakness, memory issues and blurred vision?
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 20-year-old female who is 5 feet 9 inches and weighs 135 lbs. I am not under any medication currently.
I have some health concerns, but cannot see a physician due to a lack of insurance. I feel tired even if I sleep 12 hours. I become breathless and face persistent memory problems. I have muscle weakness, during which I drop things. I have trouble grasping small things like zippers. My vision gets blurred, and I drool sometimes.
I am also losing coordination, which interferes with my work performance. My wrists and ankles grind and pop when I move them, which is often painful. My elbows lock at right angles while lifting things. My legs and feet are so sensitive that even a light touch becomes uncomfortable. My feet tingle and burn during the night.
I have a history of scoliosis and fibrocystic breast changes. I have taken a chest X-ray previously.
Please help me.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
The symptoms you have described suggest a neurological issue that requires prompt evaluation. Possible causes can include conditions such as reduced blood flow or a clot in the brain (stroke), bleeding, infection, or a space-occupying lesion. Because some of these conditions can be serious, it is important not to delay further investigation.
I strongly recommend getting an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan of the brain (both plain and contrast) as soon as possible. This will help identify the exact cause and guide appropriate treatment.
Treatment decisions depend on the underlying diagnosis, which is why imaging is essential before starting specific therapy. Given the potential seriousness, it would be advisable not to wait too long for insurance approval and to proceed with the scan at the earliest.
I hope this information will help you.
Please revert in case of further queries.
Thank you.
