Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a bump on my forehead that feels hard, and I think it might have started from picking a whitehead or blackhead. It has not gone away, and I am not sure how to get rid of it. Can you help me?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

It appears to be nodulocystic acne. I suggest you apply Nadibact (Nadifloxacin) cream twice daily for two weeks.

  1. Have you popped or pricked at the lesion before?
  2. Do you have dry skin?
  3. Any history of atopy or allergies?
  4. Do you use harsh soaps or cosmetics?
  5. Any history of photosensitivity or burning on exposure to the sun?

Kindly answer the above questions for me to guide you better.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for replying.

Could it not be a sebaceous cyst? The bump feels hard and darkened. I tend to pick at my skin, but I have not had lesions like this before. My skin a is combination type; it is very dry in the winter and very oily in the summer. I do not use cosmetics on my skin and rarely wear makeup. I have no history of allergies. I do burn easily in the sun as I have fair skin.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The differential diagnosis includes an epidermoid cyst (sebaceous cyst). It appears to be the inflammatory variant of acne.

I suggest you follow the below treatment plan:

  1. Apply Nadibact (Nadifloxacin) cream during the daytime for two weeks.
  2. Apply Benzac AC 2.5 percent gel (benzoyl peroxide) at night for two weeks.
  3. Wash your face with a gentle face wash twice daily for two weeks.
  4. Avoid scratching or rubbing the lesions to prevent further irritation.
  5. Use a water-based moisturizer or Aquasoft cream or Cerave products.
  6. Apply Photostable sunscreen 30 minutes before going outdoors and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, especially during midday.
  7. Use necessary sun protection measures, such as wearing hats and sunglasses.
  8. Use a gentle cleanser and avoid hot shower baths.
  9. Avoid using harsh soaps and steroid creams on your face.
  10. Avoid exposure to dust, pollutants, allergens, pollens, animal dander, etc.
  11. Eat a diet rich in antioxidants, vitamin A, vitamin C, zinc, and omega-3 fatty acids.
  12. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
  13. Manage stress levels and try to remain stress-free.
  14. Avoid known triggers or provoking factors.
  15. Take one tablet of Antoxid HC (antioxidants) once daily after breakfast for 30 days.

Consult your doctor, talk to them, and then take the medications as per their advice. Follow up for any doubts or concerns.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

Where can I purchase these products? Do I need to visit a clinic for a needle or incision? Will this condition go away on its own?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, it will fade on its own. Do not scratch or rub the lesion and avoid frequent touching of the lesion. You will get the above-mentioned medications in a pharmacy.

I hope this information helps you.

Thank you.
