Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I need a radiologist to interpret my nasal bones X-ray and tell me if my nose is broken or fractured. If the lines on my nose do represent a fracture I would like to know if it is a healed fracture or new. There are lines across the bridge of my nose on the X-ray and I am confused as to if this is normal or not. Doctors keep telling me the nose is not broken based on the X-ray but it is swollen since I got hit in the face a month ago. It does not matter how my nose looks. I am looking for correct the X-ray interpretation.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

The nasal bones in the X-rays are showing a normal position. The nasal bones abutting the frontal process of the maxilla along the lines in the bridge of the nose and this is a normal finding. The nasal bone is the bone in the upper part of the nose. You do not have any nasal bone abnormality. There is suspicious soft tissue swelling on the right side of the nose which might be due to the trauma a month back. There is no bone injury.

Regards and thanks.
