Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 24-year-old female, and I am obese. I have been experiencing some new symptoms that are concerning me. I have noticed dark patches of skin on my neck and underarms, and I am having issues with acid reflux. My sleep has been poor, and I think I might have sleep apnea. My partner says I snore loudly and sometimes stop breathing.
I am also dealing with depression and low self-esteem due to my weight. Exercise is becoming increasingly difficult due to joint pain. I feel trapped in a cycle of emotional eating. Can we discuss a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses both my physical and mental health? I am ready to make significant changes.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
You may have acanthosis nigricans. You may have binge eating. I suggest you do so by adhering to the recommendations below. It will help you.
Every day for 30 to 45 minutes, you should engage in some form of exercise, preferably a walk.
Practice meditation for 20 minutes each day. Just choose a comfortable position, and try to focus on your regular breathing. Then, let your thoughts go without trying to stop them. It will aid in your relaxation.
Eat wholesome, home-cooked meals instead of junk food.
Water consumption must be adequate.
If you live far from your family, you should do video calls or spend quality time with them daily.
Spend time on creative hobbies, such as reading good books, writing journals, painting, and drawing, and learning new skills, languages, or musical instruments.
The recommended amount of sleep each day is between seven and eight hours.
You must abstain from using cigarettes, alcohol, or other drugs.
Rather than merely spending your life, live it.
Be bold and self-assured.
I would suggest you start a capsule of Fluoxetine (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) 20 mg (milligrams) daily in the morning after breakfast.
I would also suggest you do the following test:
CBC (complete blood count).
Random blood sugar (rule out diabetes).
Thyroid profile.
Vitamin B12.
Vitamin D3.
Kindly consult a physician, discuss with them, and start taking the medications with their consent.
I hope I have answered your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards.
