Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am still unmarried. Except medical, I do not have any friend circle. For the last two years, I am suffering from mood swings and empty nest syndrome along with OCD. And abused OTC sedatives without consulting a neuropsychiatrist. It enhances my capabilities during surgery. Otherwise I feel a little bit uncomfortable in major clinical managements. As an instance while execution of pelvic floor repairing. Autosuggestion does not work for me. And even if I think sometimes to give up and stop practicing. Please give me some solutions to get rid of these symptoms.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Repetitive mood swings, OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) symptoms, etc., result in depressive symptoms. It is common in depression to see reduced focus and reduced concentration. This is the probable reason that you are seeing problems while doing surgeries.
What kind of OCD do you have? Sometimes we relate such symptoms to psychiatric conditions, but there are many medical causes that should be ruled out. First are vitamin B12 and D deficiency. Vitamin B12 deficiency increases the risk of anxiety and obsessive thoughts. This also results in poor focus and problems in sustaining focus. So please get B12 and D levels done, and if the levels are low, please start taking supplements.
Also, get thyroid function tests done. Hypothyroidism is one of the important causes of such symptoms. If the levels are normal, then no need to get worried.
I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at iCliniq.
Thank you.
