Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 19-year-old and have oily skin with small pimples and acne. I also have bumps on my chin, cheeks, and mouth area. How to remove this tan with bumps and fungal acne. I want fast results.
Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Thanks for sharing your concern.
At 19 years, your skin is going through hormonal changes, which is completely normal, but it can lead to oily skin, breakouts, and sometimes fungal acne.
Let us break this down and tackle your skin issues step-by-step to get fast but safe and long-term results:
Your skin concerns:
Oily skin, tan, leading to uneven skin tone or darkening.
Bumps near the mouth, chin, and cheeks.
Possible fungal acne or clogged pores.
Step-by-step skincare plan (safe for teen skin):
Morning routine: Use a gentle face wash that is oil-control and non-comedogenic. Avoid harsh scrubs.
Toner (optional but helpful for oil control): Use rose water or witch hazel (without alcohol).
Moisturizer: Use one that is lightweight and oil-free.
Sunscreen has to be used every single day (even indoors). Look for sun protection factor (SPF) 30 to 50, gel-based, and non-comedogenic.
Night routine: Same face wash as morning.
Treatment for bumps or fungal acne (use one product at a time):
Try Nizoral (Ketoconazole) (2%) cream. Apply a thin layer only on bumps thrice weekly at night. Do not apply all over your face; spot treatment only.
Alternate night: Use Salicylic acid serum (2%). Apply only two to three drops after face wash. Skip if skin gets dry. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her, and take the medicines with their consent.
Moisturizer: Same as morning, or a calming one like aloe vera gel.
Internal tips (Important for long-term results)
Drink eight to ten glasses of water daily.
Cut down on dairy, fried foods, and sugar, as they can trigger acne.
Consume zinc-rich foods like nuts, pumpkin seeds, and spinach.
Take a good probiotic if digestion is poor (talk to a doctor first).
Hope this answers your query.
Thank you.
