Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have not engaged in any intercourse or direct contact (vaginal or semen exposure) with my boyfriend, only oral sex. My cycles are usually irregular, ranging from 31 to 37 days, mainly due to stress. Whenever I touch my boyfriend's semen with my hands, I always sanitize and wash my hands before touching my vagina one to two hours later, so the sperm would die. I have not noticed any symptoms, but I have been experiencing mild stress lately. This cycle, I have not had any discharge, and my libido is low. Is it possible for me to become pregnant if I touched my boyfriend's dry hands, washed my hands with soap and water, applied alcohol, and then touched my clitoris or vagina an hour later?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
From what you have described, the likelihood of pregnancy is extremely low. Sperm must be in a viable state to cause pregnancy, and once semen dries, the sperm dies quickly, especially when exposed to air. Washing your hands with soap and water, along with using alcohol, further reduces any chance of viable sperm remaining. Touching your clitoris or vagina after washing your hands does not provide a viable pathway for sperm to enter and lead to pregnancy.
The absence of pregnancy symptoms is also a positive sign, as early signs can include missed periods, nausea, and breast tenderness. While your irregular cycle can make it hard to track ovulation, stress can also impact your cycle and libido. If you are still concerned or miss your period, consider taking a pregnancy test for peace of mind. If you have other concerns or need more personalized advice, consulting a healthcare professional would be beneficial.
I hope that you got your answer.
Please let me know if you need any help.
Take care.
