Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am an 18-year-old female who has painful urination, off-colored vaginal discharge, a sudden increase in the need to urinate, and pelvic pain, but no fever or itching. What could be the possible cause? Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Thank you for sharing this with me. I am sorry that you are experiencing these uncomfortable symptoms. What you are describing, painful urination, abnormal discharge, pelvic pain, and a sudden need to urinate, is very important to address.
This combination of symptoms often suggests a possible infection, such as a urinary tract infection (UTI), an infection in the bladder or urinary system, or bacterial vaginosis, an imbalance of bacteria in the vagina. The fact that there is no fever is reassuring, but the pelvic pain means a doctor should evaluate you properly.
The most important step is to see a healthcare provider for a simple urine test (to check for infection) and an examination (a physical check-up). They can identify the exact cause and prescribe the correct antibiotic medication (medicine that kills infection-causing bacteria), which can clear the infection effectively.
Please avoid using over-the-counter remedies, as they may not treat the correct condition.
It is completely understandable to feel nervous, but the right treatment will help you feel better quickly.
Please schedule an appointment as soon as you can.
I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
