Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

The other night while having sex, I got really hot, and as I orgasmed, I felt a weird feeling inside the top of my head for a second, but I did continue to sweat a lot. I am a 43-year-old female with panic disorder, which makes me scared of sex. However, I did see my primary care physician, who said it was because I had focused too hard on orgasm, and my muscles contracted.

I had hyperthyroidism, and I was not diagnosed for two years.

Currently, I am taking the following medications:

  1. Klonopin 1 mg twice daily.
  2. Aspirin 81 mg once a day.
  3. Folic Acid 1 mg once a day.
  4. Ferrous Glutamate 324 mg once every alternate day.
  5. Magnesium sulfate 200 mg once a day.
  6. Cefdinir 300 mg two times a day for ten days.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

It is not uncommon to have such weird sensations during sexual activity. Suppose it is the first time, then there is no need to worry. Just remain cool and calm. But, as you also have panic disorder, it seems to be a part of it. If you are getting recurrent episodes during sexual activity, I suggest you take Klonopin (Clonazepam) 0.5 mg one hour before sex. It will relieve your symptoms. I suggest you do the following:

  1. Do regular yoga and meditation.
  2. Prefer a pleasant environment and stress-free situation during sex.
  3. Do 45 minutes of exercise daily.
  4. A healthy diet with low salt, fat, and high proteins with fruits and vegetables.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

So there is no need for concern?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

If repeated events like this occur, we will have to evaluate which includes MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), brain angiography, etc.

So please let me know if there is any further episode.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
