Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My boyfriend has some kind of mental disorder. He always thinks that I am doing things to trick him and that my intentions are not good. Recently when I asked him to make me some food while we were watching a video he thought that I did it purposefully as he was watching the video happily. When I am intimate with him he thinks that it is to control him. When I ask him if he wants to have sex he feels that I am tricking him. He is paranoid and questions my every motive and whatever I do. He thinks that I am trying to turn him against his parents and he acts like people are out to get him. He does not trust me or anyone no matter how nice and loving I am. He thinks people are out to ruin his reputation and reads into things for hidden meanings. He is suspicious of me and everyone. Can you help me figure out what is wrong with him? He is always anxious, but I don think he has anxiety.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. Your boyfriend may have some psychiatric issues. But we need a detailed interview of him to establish the diagnosis. His behavior could be the result of any underlying anxiety, depression, personality issues, or some other psychiatric problem. We need to know if he has had any childhood trauma or abuse, his family environment, job stress, etc. You try to convince him to seek help. It would help him.

I hope this has helped you.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
