Can PCOS/PMOS cause difficulty in conceiving?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 24-year-old lady trying to conceive for a year and a half. I was diagnosed with PCOS/PMOS, but the medication that I was given, like Pro Mimba F and Ova Care Forte, has not helped in any way.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

In cases of infertility, patience is very important. In PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome)/PMOS (polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome), sometimes it is difficult to conceive naturally, but with a little assistance and medicines, one can easily conceive. You should go for ovulation induction and follicular study.

  1. Please mention your last menstrual date and how your menstrual cycle is.

  2. Have you done other investigations like thyroid profile, complete blood count (CBC), and the husband's semen analysis?

I hope it helps.

Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.
