Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a female and single. I have received a report of my blood test and am worried to consult my family doctor as my parents are worried about my PCOS/PMOS and I want to be sure that it has no bad news. My query is that in the report it is showing decreased level section that oral contraceptive, ovarian failure what does that mean? Please help me understand what does that mean I am worried.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
First, calm down. I have seen your reports (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Your anti-mullerian hormone level is showing high, and that means you have a polycystic ovary. A polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome /polycystic ovary is a gynecological hormonal disturbance that can irregularize cycles with other symptoms like abnormal hair growth, weight gain or insulin irregularities. You should have some healthy long-term precautions. It is better to have daily walks, exercise or yoga for having normal BMI (body mass index) and weight. Have a healthy diet with less salt, sugar, oil, and spices to reduce the chance of diabetes as in PCOS/PMOS, it is there. Have a check on other symptoms like irregular periods or abnormal hair growth. I suggest you have combined oral contraceptive pills for regulation of cycles for three months cyclically. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and start taking the medicines with their consent.
