Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I take Dronis 30 every month, and during the interval period after stopping the pill, I usually get my period on the sixth day. However, this time, I experienced brown and red spotting on the seventh and eighth days, which lasted for two days. Although the bleeding stopped after that, I took a pregnancy test the next day, and it came back negative. While I have not been sexually active, I am worried because I had a dream where someone entered me while I was asleep. I am unsure if it was just an erotic dream, but to be on the safe side, I took a pregnancy test, which came back negative. What should I do next?
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Thank you for entrusting us with your healthcare concerns.
After reviewing your history, I understand your worries. The irregularities in your menstrual cycle could be due to hormonal imbalances caused by PCOS/PMOS (polycystic ovary syndrome/polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome).
PCOS/PMOS is an endocrine disorder characterized by cysts in the ovaries, along with symptoms such as facial hair growth and weight gain. Since PCOS/PMOS is largely influenced by lifestyle factors, it is essential to make necessary changes. Adopting a high-protein diet rich in vegetables and fruits, along with regular exercise, can help manage the condition effectively.
I suggest you get your hemoglobin, HbA1c (glycated hemoglobin), and TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) levels checked to further understand your condition. There is no need to panic. You can consider taking progesterone to induce withdrawal bleeding.
I hope you find this information helpful.
Feel free to ask if you need more assistance.
Thank you.
