Periapical Cyst

A periapical cyst is also called a radicular cyst. It is an odontogenic cyst developing from periapical granuloma. It results from the infection of the tooth. Initially, the periapical cyst remains asymptomatic and progresses slowly. When infected, these cysts can cause swelling and pain. It is treated by enucleation and curettage through extraction or a periapical surgical approach.
