How to manage face pimples and blackheads in adolescents?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 18 years old now, but I have enough damage on my face from pimples and blackheads.

Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Do not worry, acne and blackheads are manageable. For that, I would suggest a step-by-step regimen.

  • In the morning, apply a broad-spectrum SPF (sun protection factor) 60+ sunblock such as Uvion or Solaris ultra sunblock, or Skin Aqua, and make sure it is evenly applied to all exposed areas.

  • In the afternoon, gently apply acne scar care gel only on the scar marks.

  • For active acne, use ADA plus gel in the evening. Take a pea-sized amount and apply a thin layer over the entire face, followed by a suitable moisturiser.

  • Continue this routine consistently for at least three to four weeks to notice visible improvement in acne control and skin texture.

  • Please avoid picking or squeezing pimples or scars, as this can lead to permanent scarring.

I hope this information will help you.

Kindly follow up if you have any further concerns.

Thank you.
