I am a 29-year-old female who has been dealing with a sinus infection for several weeks. My doctor has suggested that it is linked to pneumococcal disease. The condition is quite severe, with nasal blockage and pain in my cheeks and eyes, which is unbearable. I have tried over-the-counter nasal sprays, but they only provide temporary relief for a few hours. Additionally, I have a slight fever and a sore throat that has not gone away.
Should I start stronger antibiotics, or would it be better to get a CT ( computed tomography) scan to ensure this is not developing into a more serious complication? What can I do to relieve the pressure and speed up my recovery?
