Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My aunty has a cough and cold. She has been sick for a while. Could it be something more serious, like a respiratory disease? I read somewhere that a virus can cause pneumonia, so I am worried. Should she take medicine? How do we know if it is just a cold or something worse? Is there any research that can tell us more about it? I am not sure what to do if her symptoms get worse.
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I went through your query.
She is experiencing a lower respiratory tract infection, so I suggest you give her the medications listed below.
1. Amoxiclav (Amoxicillin) 625 mg: 1 tablet twice daily.
2. Fexofenadine (antihistamine) 120 mg: 1 tablet twice daily.
3. Pantoprazole (antacid) 40 mg: 1 tablet once daily.
Continue this regimen for three days. If symptoms persist, the treatment can be extended for up to five days.
Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.
I hope this helps.
Thanks and regards.
