What causes weaker erections and delayed ejaculation?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am experiencing weaker erections. Even after watching porn, I find it difficult to get an erection unless I touch myself while watching. I also have not been getting morning erections at all. Additionally, during intercourse, ejaculation is delayed and sometimes does not occur even after a long time. Could you please advise me on this?

Please guide.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

I understand your concerns about your symptoms. Based on your complaints, you may be experiencing erectile dysfunction (ED).

Here are some possible reasons for ED:

  1. Stress from work or family issues, including night shifts. Consider incorporating regular exercise and yoga into your routine.

  2. Depression.

  3. Varicocele. An ultrasound of the scrotum can help with diagnosis.

  4. Fear of failure. Experiencing one episode of ED can lead to anxiety about future occurrences.

  5. Low self-esteem, which may be exacerbated by chronic masturbation. Homosexuality. A lack of attraction to the same sex can potentially contribute.

  6. Religious constraints.

  7. Smoking and alcohol consumption.

  8. Long-term illnesses such as cardiac disease, thyroid disorders, kidney disease, or any condition requiring long-term medication.

  9. Simple vitamin deficiencies.

  10. Hormonal issues, such as thyroid imbalances, low testosterone, or increased prolactin levels.

  11. Long-term drug usage.

  12. Diabetes and hypertension.

To further evaluate your condition, it is essential to check the following:

  1. Doppler ultrasound of the penis.

  2. Ultrasound of the pelvis and scrotum.

  3. Blood pressure.

  4. Random blood sugar (RBS) levels.

  5. Free T3 and T4 (triiodothyronine and thyroxine) hormone levels, testosterone, and TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone).

Please provide more details about the reasons mentioned above, and we can work on a diagnosis and treatment plan.

Additionally, you should aim to incorporate regular exercise and a balanced diet into your lifestyle. Here is a list of exercises to consider:

  1. Basic exercises: Kegel exercises, squats, yoga, running, or brisk walking for at least 5 minutes.

  2. For missionary position: Planks, push-ups, mountain climbers, and glute bridges.

  3. For standing positions: Bicep curls, pull-ups, and jump squats.

  4. For doggy style: Jump squats and walking lunges.

  5. For the cowgirl or the girl-on-top position: Glute bridges and leg raises.

In terms of diet, consider including strawberries, apples, avocados, sweet potatoes, sesame seeds, almonds, garlic, and a little chocolate. For a temporary solution, you may use tablet Mildfil (Tadalafil) 5 mg twice a day.

I hope this answers your query.

Feel free to reach out anytime.

Thank you.
