Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I informed you that I started taking potassium citrate with magnesium citrate (Noculi) 10 ml twice, some time back with considerable noticeable benefits. I take it within half an hour of meals. Would there be any possible adverse effects? If so, what? I am posing this question, as I learned that formulations with more than 100 mg of potassium are not allowed at my place.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your history. Potassium supplements are good for general function but need careful monitoring of potassium levels in the blood. Potassium is a vital electrolyte in the body and has various functions depending on the cell where it accumulates. If it is in the higher or lower range, it can cause dysfunction, so you must regularly monitor your potassium levels. If you are taking regular supplements, daily supplements should be under regular supervision by the physician. Daily potassium intake should not exceed the milli equivalent per day.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply,

My potassium level has been within the normal limits for a long time. Do I need to take more precautions?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You can continue with the same and monitor potassium regularly. That is all.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
