Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I recently found out that I am pregnant. I had three shots of vodka a few weeks back unknowingly. Will that affect my baby?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your case and understood your concern.

It will not affect your pregnancy, but if you take alcohol regularly then it might affect you. So, I suggest you do not drink alcohol during pregnancy and lactation. Do an ultrasound scan around six to seven weeks and do a nuchal translucency scan around 11 to 13 weeks. Start Folic acid tablets once daily and have more green leafy vegetables and fruits in your diet. Keep yourself hydrated.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.
