Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My sister is 6 months and 20 days pregnant with ART. She is having premature ovarian dysfunction. She was on Lonopin 40 mg with Ecosprin tablets. She had undergone an ART procedure twice. All her reports were fine, but the fetus had no pulsations. So, she underwent an abortion twice. Everything is fine in her current pregnancy, and her doctor has advised her to stop Lonopin. The doctor said that there was nothing to worry, about and there was no need to take an injection. Do you think she needs to take these injections and if she takes these injections full time, will it result in some complications? Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

No, she should not stop low molecular weight injection and instead, she must take Enoxaparin (LMWX) and tablet Ecosprin 150 mg, as her previous history is such that we should not ignore it. If not taken, then she is at high risk for early development of high BP (blood pressure) and slow growth of the baby. Water level around the baby will remain low and at times, bleeding can occur during pregnancy. So, she needs to be very careful.

I hope this helps.

Do get back in case of any further queries.

Thank you.
