Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My husband has leaking protein in his urine. We have conducted a urine test and the report says protein traces and appearance is slightly turbid.

What does that mean? Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for writing and I understand your concern.

Actually, if there is protein in urine it is called proteinuria. It indicates kidney health, so your kidneys are not functioning properly, so protein is coming into the urine. There can be various reasons, such as not drinking enough water or inflammation of the kidneys due to infections. So I would suggest you do kidney function as well.

Please tell me,

Do you have burning sensation in urine ?

Did you loose weight recently?

Are you taking any protein supplements?

Please let me know.

Thank you.
