Pulpotomy

The vital portion of the tooth containing the nerves and blood vessels is called the pulp. It can get infected due to trauma or decay. The treatment involves the removal of the infected portion of the pulp. So, when the pulp tissue is removed only from the crown portion and not the root, it is called pulpotomy.
