This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi, Doctor,

A few days ago, I noticed a painful area below my lower abdomen. After a few days, it started spreading to my upper stomach and my penis. Could you please tell me what the cause of this is? I am scared.

Please help me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com

I am very sorry about your medical condition, and I am glad that you are paying attention to changes in your body system. But do not worry, I am here to take care of you.

Regarding your symptoms and images (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity),

I strongly believe you have developed a herpes zoster skin infection containing pustules caused by a herpes zoster virus. Have you completed all your immunizations? Please do a PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test for the herpes zoster virus and reply to me with the result.

Please take the following:

  1. Tablet Acyclovir 800 mg twice daily for two weeks.

  2. Apply Topical 0.2 % Acyclovir cream twice daily for one month.

  3. Tablet Amoxiclav (Amoxicillin and Clavulanate) 625 mg twice daily for one week.

  4. Tablet Ibuprofen 400 mg twice daily for one week.

You can take the tablets after consulting your specialist doctor. Reply to me if you have more concerns or questions.

I hope this information helps you.

Thank you.
