Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been getting recurring hard red bumps along my temples for the past two years. They look like acne but do not react to the acne treatment. They are incredibly stubborn and never subside. They occasionally have a tiny whitehead at the top but are usually closed comedones.

Hello,

Welcome to iclinq.com.

I can understand your concern. Acne Vulgaris is a common skin problem in adolescents and in adulthood. It involves pilosebaceous follicles or oil glands and therefore is seen to involve areas where oil glands are dense like the face, chest, back, and upper arms. In your case, it looks like grade one to grade two acne. You can start using Clindamycin in topical form, Nicotinamide during daytime over pimples, and Microbenz 3.5% gel or Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5 % at night hour over the whole face for around two to three months. For cleaning your face you can use an oil-reducing cleanser twice daily. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her, and take the medicines with their consent. You need to follow certain dietary restrictions, such as avoiding oily, spicy, and junk food, as well as milk products. You should also consider reducing the consumption of non-vegetarian foods and increasing your water intake to keep your skin hydrated.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.

Regards.
