Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have numerous moles on my scalp, but one is very big. This mole has been on my body for years, yet it has become more prominent. The moles are raised, and the surrounding area occasionally becomes slightly red. Does this mole have cancerous potential? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

The lesion appears like seborrheic dermatitis. I suggest you follow the suggestions listed below.

1. Wash scalp with Salisia KT (Ketoconazole and Salicylic Acid) shampoo on alternative days for ten days, then twice weekly for four weeks.

2. Apply Betamethasone lotion in the evening for ten days on the red area of the scalp.

3. Tablet Antoxid HC (multivitamins) once daily after breakfast for 30 days.

4. Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.

5. Avoid exposure to UV rays.

6. Avoid direct sunlight.

7. Use sun protection measures.

8. Maintain proper hygiene.

9. Avoid scratching and rubbing the lesion.

10. The biopsy can be done to rule out malignancy.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.
