How to reduce my facial redness and pimples?
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My face is often very red, and my skin has an unusual texture. I also struggle with a lot of pimples.
Please advise.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Redness of the skin may be caused by rosacea or sensitive skin. Textured skin is likely due to acne and post-acne scars.
To manage red skin, please avoid spicy foods, sun exposure, and hot coffee. For textured skin, I will prescribe some medication for acne. If possible, please share a few photos so we can assess any scarring and plan accordingly.
At this time, I will not start any oral medications; we will begin with a few ointments and, based on your response, we can determine the next steps.
Here is what you should apply:
Ozenoxacin cream in the morning over the bumps.
Benzoyl peroxide 2.5 % gel at night over the acne.
SPF (sun protection factor) 50 sunscreen in the morning.
Ceramides and Hyaluronic acid moisturizer for sensitive skin.
I hope this answers your query. Feel free to reach out anytime.
Thank you.
