Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have had a mark on my skin for three months now. It looks like a small red spot, and I first saw it while I was sunbathing on vacation.
Please help.
Thank you for your guidance.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Thank you for expressing your concern and sending the photograph. Based on your description and the image (attachment removed to protect patient’s identity), the red patch appears to be a benign skin lesion, such as a cherry angioma or minor sunburn.
It is good to know that:
The spot has not changed its size or shape.
There are no signs of pain, itching, or bleeding.
Since it appeared after sun exposure, it could simply be a harmless sun-related mark.
However, for ultimate peace of mind, especially with a recurrent skin lesion, an in-person review by a dermatologist or a dermoscopy exam is the most precise next step.
In the meantime:
Avoid direct sunlight on the region.
Apply sunscreen every day.
Keep track of any changes in color, edges, bleeding, or growth.
Please notify me if you detect any changes or if new spots appear.
I hope this makes sense.
I am here to help you in this process, so feel free to get in touch if you have any more questions.
Thank you.
