Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 40-year-old woman trying to shed stubborn belly fat. Over the summer, I went on daily walks, starting with 45 minutes and eventually reaching 2 hours, covering around 10 miles each day. It did help reduce my belly fat, but some days, I feel weak and end up overindulging in desserts, causing my belly to bloat again within an hour. My overall body fat has not changed significantly, except my face and shoulders are slimming. Now, if I eat too much, I resort to walking 7 or 8 miles because the sun sets early in the fall. I am tired of this cycle of walking and eating. Besides, I have other things to do that I have been putting off due to my obsession with getting in shape. What should I do? How many minutes or how much distance should I aim for in my daily walks to maintain progress without overdoing it?
Can you offer some guidance on this?
