Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I can get violent in my sleep and attack my wife. I also talk, sing and shout. I also suffer from headaches, migraine, and tremors in my hands.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com. With your limited history, it seems you have rapid eye movement (REM) sleep behavior disorder. This would need further evaluation by a neurologist. Do you have tremor at rest or both during rest and motion? You can try Melatonin 10 mg at bedtime (OTC medicine). This should help you with your sleep behavior. Also, an alternative is Clonazepam (this would need physician prescription). You would need polysomnography for definitive diagnosis of REM sleep disorder. Also, neurological evaluation to make sure you do not have early Parkinson symptoms. The probable diagnosis include REM sleep behavior disorder.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
