Common "Retrognathic Mandible" queries answered by top doctors | iCliniq

Retrognathic Mandible

The retrognathic mandible (lower jaw) is a dentofacial deformity with an anteroposterior discrepancy causing misalignment of jaws. It is otherwise called class II malocclusion, and it results in a severe overbite. Trauma to the TMJ (temporomandibular joint) can also restrict the mandible's growth, resulting in a retrognathic mandible.
