Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have rhinosporidiosis in my right nose for the past 18 months and had a previous history of nasal bleeding 18 months back. I am currently taking tablet Alcipro 500 mg, steroid, and tablet Omeprazole. The physician suggested that I needed an operation for this problem. I want to know the operation cost with anesthesia. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Rhinosporidiosis is a chronic granulomatous disease caused by Rhinosporidium seeberi. It is usually acquired from a water source infected by the organism. Not many drugs are effective against this disease. Complete excision of the disease is the permanent treatment for this condition. Although it is not a life-threatening condition, it tends to spread, so I suggest you, please undergo the operation. The procedure is conducted under general anesthesia. This surgery is costly, and depending on the city where you stay and the method used to remove the condition, the cost may vary. Microdebrider or coblation methods will cost you more. Please attach the CT (computerized tomography) scan copy if done so that I can assess the level of spread. I hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
