Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My baby is suffering with running nose last 13 days. I consulted my pediatrician before some days, and she prescribed Montair Lc kid syrup 3 ml for 20 days and also gave Sinarest AF drop once for six days. Before that, she took Sinarest Af and Ascoril ld for 10 days. Apart from this, she suffered a running nose. What should I do?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I got your concern. Well, first of all, I am asking you to continue all medications as prescribed by a pediatrician. Babies less than five years often get recurrent cold and cough. There could be many reasons,

1. Post viral infection cough, which may continue for three to four weeks.

2. Recurrent viral infection (due to repeated exposure from family members or nursery students) which may present as cold cough and occasionally fever.

3. Some allergy-like food allergy (cow milk, eggs, etc.) dust allergy, smoking exposure, change in atmosphere, change in location, etc.,

Mostly they came out from it till five years of age, so continue the same. Monitor growth and height. Make a symptom diary which might help us to rule out other diagnoses.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
