Salmonella enterica subspecies enterica serovar Typhi infect humans. It is a gram-negative anaerobic bacteria that inhabit the lymphatic tissues of the liver, spleen, small intestine, and bloodstream. They cause typhoid fever. High fever, constipation, headache, abdominal pain, and weakness are its symptoms. It causes life-threatening complications like intestinal perforation and bleeding. It is because of the capsular polysaccharide termed Vi.
