Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from freckles due to sun exposure, which turned into brown moles. I cannot wear a swimming suit when needed. Kindly suggest treatment.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

I have reviewed the images sent by you (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity) and can infer that seborrheic keratosis is also present along with freckles. Freckles or ephelis are common in individuals who get sunburn easily and do not tan. It is usually not common among people with dark skin. I advise you to follow the below-mentioned instructions

  1. Apply 30% trichloroacetic acid (TCA) cream or Hydroquinone cream during the night daily for 16 weeks.
  2. For seborrheic keratosis (brownish raised eruptions) you can go for radiofrequency cautery removal.
  3. Follow certain sun protection measures like,
    1. Avoid mid-day sun, especially between 10 AM to 4 PM.
    2. Seek shade whenever possible
    3. Wear broad-brimmed hats
    4. Apply sunscreen with SPF 50 + daily in the morning all over the face, and it can be repeated after four hours.
    5. Kindly consult a physician, talk to them, and use the medication with their consent.
    6. I hope this information will help you.

      Thank you.
