How can weeping rashes on the body be managed?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been experiencing symptoms of a weeping rash on my neck, head, ears, and sporadically throughout my body for many months. I am also having night sweats and intermittent mottling of my arms and legs. I am constantly physically and mentally exhausted and experience daily nausea and vomiting. I had blood work done, which showed paraproteins and free light chains, as well as a small M spike. Following this, I had a bone marrow biopsy. I do not have an appointment to review the results until next week.

As a registered nurse, I have been investigating my symptoms. While I have a basic understanding of the results, the wait until next week is unbearable. I am so consumed by this that I cannot sleep or concentrate. Most of the results appeared fairly normal, except for the immunohistochemical stains, which showed CD34 and CD117 highlighting rare, scattered blasts; CD20 highlighting scattered B cells; CD3 and CD5 highlighting scattered T cells; and CD138 highlighting scattered plasma cells that appear polytypic. Additionally, iron incorporation is decreased, and the blood clot was suboptimal due to a single spicule. The aspirate was inadequate due to the absence of spicules. The rest of the results were unremarkable.

I also had two abnormal mammograms, and the decision was made to wait and watch. I am currently taking Dextroamphetamine, Escitalopram, and Bupropion.

Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thanks for the query.

You described the immunohistochemistry, but no such report is attached (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). The attached report is the procedure of the bone marrow biopsy. Please attach the CBC (complete blood count), serum chemistry, including protein electrophoresis, and bone marrow reports for review.

Kindly revert.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I kindly request a clinical correlation.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Your bone marrow results are reported as normal. All the findings mentioned are consistent with normal bone marrow. The peripheral blood film is also normal. So, relax, there is nothing abnormal in this bone marrow biopsy and CBC (complete blood count) report.

Thanks for using icliniq, and have a nice day.
