Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My baby is having trouble sleeping during the day. He either does not nap or sleeps only briefly before waking up. What could be the possible reasons for this? Additionally, how can I help him establish a better nap routine?
Kindly suggest.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
As per the limited information, one cause may be inadequate or faulty feeding. He might be taking a small amount of feed, sleeping for a short time, waking up demanding feeds, or crying. For this, a more detailed history of his birth weight, current weight, details of his growth and milestones achievement, etc., is needed. If he is growing well, feeding well, passing urine or motion well, and active, not making any fuss, then it may be normal. Some kids do develop their day and night cycle a bit early. They hardly sleep during the day but get a good long night's sleep. In this case, no need to worry. Usually, a nice bath after a gentle massage gives babies good sleep. You can try. Share more details about his diet and food, growth, and milestones, and I will advise you accordingly. Otherwise, you can connect with me on chat, and I will discuss the issue in detail.
Let me know if you have any other concerns.
Thank you.
