Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am seeking advice for my girl who is turning four this year. I used to let her watch shows and rhymes every time she refused to eat. She is always sneaking around to get hold of the device. Keeping her away from this has become a big pain. She is throwing tantrums and becoming restless when I do not give her the device. Kindly suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com

I can understand your concern.

Smart gadget addiction is on the rise. This can lead to behavioral problems in growing kids. New guidelines say that only 30 minutes of screen time should be there for children under the age of five. I suggest you follow the below-mentioned instructions:

  1. Do not pacify the child by giving them smart gadgets.
  2. Never use a mobile during feeding.
  3. Involve her in some activity like drawing or games which can gradually divert her attention from smart gadgets.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
