What could be causing spleen enlargement, on-and-off fever, and blood deficiency?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have spleen enlargement, on-and-off fever, and blood deficiency. I felt weak and irritated, and started eating unusual things like dust on the windows.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I reviewed your query.

Features suggest micronutrient deficiency. You need to get some laboratory investigation done. Get CBC (complete blood count), LDH (Lactate dehydrogenase ), ferritin, ALT (alanine transaminase), and creatinine levels done.

Build up your vitamin B12, folic acid, pyridoxine, vitamin D, and iron levels. Get a course to deworm yourself.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I am attaching the report here.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I reviewed your reports (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). You are severely anemic. Build up your vitamin B12, folic acid, pyridoxine, vitamin D, and iron levels. Get a course to deworm yourself.

Some things still need to be done. Get ferritin, ALT (alanine transaminase), and creatinine levels done.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
