Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have been having spotting for the past two to three days. I am unable to understand if it is implantation bleeding or a period.
Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I am deeply concerned about your worries.
That’s likely premenstrual spotting or an early period, not implantation bleeding. Implantation bleeding is rare, usually light pink or brown, and lasts for one to two days; in most cases, it doesn’t last for three days. Two to three days of spotting are more likely to be a hormonal fluctuation or an impending light period.
You are trying to conceive, so pregnancy is still a possibility, but spotting alone cannot confirm implantation. If you don't get a full period in a few days and spotting is still light, do a pregnancy test with first morning urine. If negative, repeat after 3 days. If positive, consult for early pregnancy support (especially post miscarriage).
Other common causes of spotting include hormonal imbalance, ovulation spotting, progesterone fluctuation and stress. The most likely diagnosis is premenstrual hormonal spotting. Get prompt evaluation for heavy bleeding, severe pain or dizziness.
velop heavy bleeding, severe pain, or dizziness, seek evaluation promptly.
I hope this information will help you.
Thanks.
