What causes a red spot near the lips after protected sex?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had protected sex with a woman three days ago. The entire act was protected. She performed protected oral sex on me and then I performed protected anal sex. There was no contact between my mouth and any of her body parts. Also, no saliva exchange was involved. After anal sex, she wanted to perform oral sex on me, so she changed and put on a new condom before performing oral sex.

Since last night, I have been feeling an itch on my beard right near the corner of my lips. When I shaved the area, I found the spot a little swollen. Today, I see a small red patch in that area. I was attaching the pictures. What is this patch? Is this some kind of STD?

I have no symptoms apart from some fatigue, which could be due to my longer working hours and inconsistent sleep. Also, thinking about the act is making me paranoid about catching an STD (sexually transmitted disease), which is causing fatigue.

Can you please guide me?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Protected sex is safe sex; the use of a condom, even for oral, is a very good gesture.

Least or zero-level risk exposure. Open both files. It seems to be an allergic reaction at first. On the third day, you notice these symptoms, which appear to be early signs. Do not consider even the window period. Here are my suggestions:

  1. Caladryl lotion (Calamine) is applied locally three times a day over the patch until required.

  2. Tablet Atrex 25 milligrams (Hydroxyzine hydrochloride) two times a day after lunch and dinner for three to five days or as required.

  3. Cetirizine (antihistamine), one at night for three to five days.

I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at iCliniq.

Thank you.
