Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

It is my annual checkup report. I have been feeling fatigued, and that's all. I enjoy fasting and trying to live healthier. I recently stopped eating sugar. Because I was addicted to it.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

According to the laboratory reports (attachment removed to protect patient's identity)

1. CBC (complete blood count) is normal except there are mild iron deficiency findings.

2. WBC (white blood cell) has normal values, but lymphocytes are mildly elevated.

3. FBS (fasting blood sugar) and HbA1c (glycated hemoglobin) are normal, meaning no diabetes.

4. You have deranged lipid profile values. There is increased total and LDL (low-density lipids) cholesterol.

5. CK (creatinine kinase) and CK-MB (myocardial band) levels are normal.

6. Liver function test values are normal except for a mild increase in ALT (alanine transaminase) and GGT (gamma-glutamyl transferase) values. You do not have to worry about it. There is no need for any further investigations or medication for it.

7. Kidney function test is normal.

8. Thyroid function test is normal, and other endocrine values are also normal.

9. You have low vitamin D, and you may be suggested for Vitamin D supplementation if there is very low sunlight due to your lifestyle

Overall laboratory values are normal, indicating normal health. At this value of increased total and LDL cholesterol, diet control and exercise are recommended. Try to avoid fatty foods and do aerobic exercise for at least 45 minutes a day for five days a week to boost overall health and bring total and LDL cholesterol values to normal. You have mentioned complaining of fatigue because your Hb (hemoglobin) level is low. You should take iron-rich foods, and this would be enough to increase your Hb level. I hope I have cleared all your doubts.

Thank you.
