Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I took Docusate sodium because my stool was hard and it had been a week since my last movement. Due to taking two within a three-day period, I do not believe I had enough liquids in my body because I threw up and had diarrhea and extreme stomach pain. After figuring out what had happened I began drinking pedialyte and plenty of fluids as well as eating applesauce and bananas. However it has been a week and now when I eat, regardless of what I eat I become bloated and honestly have been staying bloated. What is causing this, will it go away and should I seek medical treatment I went to my primary care doctor and he wants me to have blood work and X-rays taken. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern. It appears to be an acidity and gastritis. Do you also have upper abdominal pain, nausea, increase in pain on food, sour water feeling in throat or chest burning, these are the other symptoms and may be associated. You should avoid a fatty, oily, and spicy diet. Have some walks after having food instead of taking a rest. Have multiple small meals instead of heavy meals. Have regular sleep habits and avoid stress. Lots of green leafy vegetables, fruits. Avoid smoking and alcohol if any. I suggest taking tablet Pan DSR 40 mg or Esomiprazole Domperidone combination before breakfast once a day for two weeks. If not adequately relieved, then you should add syrup Sucral O or Gelusil two teaspoons three times a day for a week. Hope this helps you get back if you have any doubts.

Thank you.
