What are the white spots on teeth during cold weather?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I get white spots on my teeth periodically in cold weather climates. I am getting married in this climate, and I do not want spots on my teeth on my wedding day. What should I do?

Answered by Dr. Priyanga. K

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Congratulations on your wedding. Good to hear. Sounds like a fluorosis. It happens due to fluoride deposits on the tooth. And it does not appear periodic. It will be there all your lifetime. Need a picture of your tooth for better diagnosis. You can consult a cosmetologist to bleach your tooth if it is a cosmetic issue. Visit your dentist for better results.

Thank you.
