Can abnormal thyroid levels impact weight loss?
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I want you to look at my test results. My hormones and thyroid seem out of balance. I am dedicating two hours a day to training and sticking to a low-calorie diet, but no matter what I do, losing weight feels impossible. It is getting me down, and I am lacking my usual energy and positivity. I do not feel like myself lately. I am taking Levothyroxine and Cytomel tablets. Please suggest.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
I reviewed the lab reports (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). The thyroid levels are not in the normal range. I suggest either stopping Cytomel (Liothyronine) and increasing Levothyroxine to 112 mcg daily or decreasing Cytomel dose. What is your current Cytomel dose? Others are normal nothing to worry about. I hope you find this helpful.
Thank you.
