Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My wife is 27 years old and five months pregnant. She underwent a TIFFA test yesterday, and everything is normal except for one thing. We got this message that the intracardiac echogenic focus marker is present. So the doctor has suggested the NITP test. However, the reports will come in the next ten days. My doubt is, what is the meaning of the given message? Is it serious?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed your history and report (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity) and understand your concerns. However, in her ultrasound reports, all are normal except for an echogenic focus in the fetal heart. Usually, echogenic cardiac foci are considered normal but are sometimes associated with congenital fetal abnormalities. That is why they said to do NIPT (noninvasive prenatal testing test) test because it is a non invasive test to rule out any congenital abnormalities in the fetus.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
